Right after the USA and England, most probably Holland had the most vivid scene in the 60s with hords of groups, heaps of clubs and dancehalls all over the country, a decent teen-press and valid radio stations (Radio Veronica, Hilversum III). Even if Dutch Garage bands have been widely compiled, some tracks seem to have escaped the net. So get your double-dose of forgotten Beat, Freakbeat, and weird Psychedelia from Holland and prepare for some hilarious and even downright stupid sounds out of the Beat-Kellers behind the dikes (Grolsch-Beer and Jenever-booze did play their parts in the Dutch scene!).
