…all of these uncompiled gems (if you don’t count the 5-CD-box “Singapore 60s” hardly available outside Singapore) are taken from podcasts by the outstanding Hamsters & Guppies Show (http://unpopular-music.blogspot.com). I’ve put the sweet voice of Georgie from Singapore as a short intro. She is the master of the H&G-Show and really does an incredible job of passion, notwithstanding all kind of technical difficulties like switching plugs between iPad, record-player and microphone which usually creates blank spaces and much buzz & crackle in the final audio track, which, again, gives it all a nice personal mood. I hope she’ll dig my homage to her show (and hopefully will give me some more information on the unknown tracks). Most of the songs I selected are done in the typical Asian A-Go Go-style and sung by sweet female voices from Singapore, Hong Kong and Malaysia, but wait until you hear track # 25…..
